Gumbo Live! Episode 170 welcomed in Josh Ballagh, designer and publisher of COALITION: COUNCILS OF THE REPUBLIC, a team based negotiation game coming to Kickstarter this summer. Four Parties with competing interests (Clergy, Nobles, Merchants, and Rebels) wheel and deal to shape their city-state’s new Constitution via a shared-scoring system. Meanwhile, Independent players seek to achieve their own unique objectives.

Josh chatted with BJ and Steve about his experience at Southern Board Game Fest, including the rollicking success of the GeauxPub section this year, gave us the behind the scenes on the development of COALITION, and then it was time to play a game! Josh brought the heat with his choice for THE ENVIE GAME — could the NameFather take down BJ and the Chat Krewe this week?
