Introducing the newbie table! 6 curated games to introduce you the hobby.

This sunday 2pm to 5pm. ~(As par tof our noon to 11pm event)

All of our events are beginner friendly, with friendly teachers and an epic games library we’ll get you into a game and support you.

Modern games (released in the last 30-40 years) have developed hugely and are very different to the classics like Monopoly and Risk (100 and 70 years old!)

There are 100s of games release year from tiny to epic, we’ve chose 6 awesome examples. we are announcing this in advance so you can research before hand if you want, but there is no need to as we will teach the game.

Our First newbie session is hosted by Elaine Best (one of the founders of HBG and my wife!)

The games
Slide – A light puzzle game or arranging cards by sliding them
Crack List – Uno meets categories, lots of fun and laughter
Seaside – a push your luck puzzle game of collecting along the sea side
Nekojima – a tower (pylon) building game
Tinderblox – a tiny dexterity game
Quoridor – a 2 / 4 player puzzle game if you like chess try this, you aim to cross the map whilst making a maze to stop your opponent.

Each month we’ll swap out a game or two and introduce new games. The first batch are also in our shop and lean towards games which are brand new! ———————

This is aimed at folks new to gaming as an introduction to the hobby, anyone is welcome to join but priority will go to new players. Gamers new to HB are welcome to play these games or we can find other games for you. These games are available in the library to borrow, the shop to buy and will be available at most events (We bring the same games to each session) so you’ll have lots of changes to play. All of our events are free and we lots more info on our website.
