Party Games for Large Groups: Updated for 2025!

If you need a party game for a really big group, try one of these party games! Great for 10 or MORE players! Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for our tips on hosting a large group for game night! Up to 10 players Hues and Cues This game is one of our favorites. A player will give one and two word clues while everyone tries to place their pawn on the color square they think best represents the color they’re referring to. It’s all about how you perceive color.  Fake Artist Goes to New York Everyone is trying to draw the same picture, except for one person who has no idea what that picture is supposed to be. They have to try to blend in while trying to figure out what the drawing is of, while everyone else tries to figure out who the fake artist is.  Werewords One of my favorite word games! You are trying to guess the secret word by asking yes or no questions before the time is up. If you do, you win. But it’s not that simple, someone is working against you — they know the word and will try to confuse you without you figuring out who they are.  Simple, fast, fun, and addictive! Blank Slate Blank Slate has been a hit with every group we’ve played it with so far. You try to fill in the blank on a word cue card to complete the phrase. You earn more points if you match with just one other player, fewer points if you match with two or more, and no points if you matched with no one. I think it’s a fun twist on word association games and love that it has players try to be clever, but not too clever. It technically plays up to 8, but we’ve added extra players without any issues! Saboteur This simple card game is always fun! You are trying to find the path to the gold by laying path cards down, however, among you is the saboteur who is trying to stop your progress and keep you from winning. Snake Oil One of our favorite games for those who love to perform! Snake Oil is hilarious fun. Everyone will pitch a product to the group, turning into the mostly wily of salesmen to sell ridiculous products to even crazier customers.  This game is great for kids working on their public speaking skills too!  The Resistance or The Resistance: Avalon A game of social deduction and deception. These games are great for groups who love to work out either who the bad guys are or foil the good guys to win. They play quickly and are easy to learn.  More than 10 players ito Ito is my current favorite large group party game! Players get a number card on a scale of 0-100 and must give a clue based on the current category that they think accurately describes where that number falls. So if the category is “places you want to live” and 0 is you definitely don’t want to live there, and 100 is the best place possible, players with a 78 might say “A house on the lake” while a player with the number 14 might say “an apartment on the 15th floor of a building with a broken elevator.” Then everyone needs to put the numbers in sequential order. If you get it right, you win! (and what a rush that is!) It combines the fun from games like Wavelength and The Mind and the best part is it scales beautifully to fit however big your group is. It includes everything you need to play with up to 10 players, but you can easy add more by using post it notes or paper to indicate which numbers belong to which players. Flip 7 A close second for current go-to party games is Flip 7. This plays like a game of black jack and works with pretty much any player, age, or group size. It’s simple to teach, quick to play, and makes for some fun, laugh out loud moments when players hit and win big, or bust and lose it all. Monikers Monikers is one of those games guaranteed to make you laugh. You try to get your team to guess the name on the card. In the first round you can say anything, the second round only one word, and in the third round you must act it out. It’s hilarious fun and great for big groups!  Two Rooms and a Boom If you have a GIANT group, I’m talking up to 20 people, then Two Rooms and a Boom is THE game to play. It is one of the few games that plays best when you have a huge gathering. (though you can play it with as few as 7.) It’s a social game with hidden roles that you play throughout your house, or at least two rooms of it. Players are divided into two teams, one team’s goal is to protect the president (a player secretly assigned the role) the other team’s goal is to…um, well, blow the president up by getting the bomber into the room with that player by the end of the game. Okay, so the theme is a little irreverent, but you’ll forget about that approximately 1 minute into the game when you’re desperately trying to figure out who you can trust, assign leaders to take hostages and shuffle players between rooms, and choosing your words carefully to avoid or cast suspicions. Trust me, it’s great. And the best news, you can play it for FREE using the publishers available print and play version. Wavelength Wavelength is fun for the whole family. You’re trying to guess a target location on a spectrum with only a single clue given by your teammate. The closer you get to the target the more points you earn.
