Paper and Pen Games: How to Play SIM

If you need an easy way to pass time while waiting at restaurants or traveling, then you need to know how to play SIM! This is a sneaky math game perfect to use as a boredom buster. The more you play, the better you’ll get! What you need: One sheet of paperTwo Pens (or markers/highlighter) in two colors, one for reach playerTwo Players That’s it! I keep a notebook in my purse for just these games so I always have an easy way to entertain the kids at a moments notice! If you need some new pens, these are some of my favorite! How to Set Up a Game of Sim Draw a Dots in a Hexagon Shape. On your paper, draw six dots to form the points of a hexagon. If you choose to, you may connect each dot to each other with a connecting line; this is great if you or another player struggles to visualize the connecting lines between each dot that you will need to draw. It is not necessary however, you only need the six dots. How to Play SIM Players take turns drawing lines in their color, connecting two unconnected dots together. Your goal is to avoid drawing a triangle where all three sides are formed with lines of your color. Rules for Triangles Only triangles formed using the hexagon’s outer points count. It is possible that you may create a triangle in the middle of the hexagon by crossing previously drawn lines. These triangles do not count towards a loss, only triangles formed by their three sides, each in your color, connecting to outer dots.
