Speculaas is a simultaneous card drafting, tile-laying, and set collection game for 1–5 players, ages 10 and up, with a playtime of around 20 minutes. In Speculaas, players take on the role of pastry chefs competing to score the most victory points by collecting Spice cards and pairing them with Recipe (scoring) cards. Speculaas are spiced shortbread cookies from the Netherlands and Belgium, traditionally molded into shapes like windmills, ships, and animals. The classic spice blend includes cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, and white pepper.
