Code of Conduct and RPGs

Code of conduct reminder and Role Play Games.

We aim to create a fun, welcome, safe space for all. Our library has games for everyone and our friendly games teachers will help find and teach you games (which you can then borrow for free)

We have a code of conduct to explain and set our culture. Everyone is welcome as long as they are kind and supportive of each other. Gaming is a shared hobby.

Gaming is also wonderful because you can connect and learn about each other without small talk.

I’m reposting this for two reasons, not because we have problem, we have an amazing community, where I see amazing kindness and support for each other.

1) The world needs more safe spaces and empathy. We hope to provide that. Do make small talk over games (if you want) but be mindful of distracting the flow of the game and topics of conversation. Please ask for a change of topic if you want.

2) Role play games are amazing, but have a lot more potential to be personal, involve inter character conflict and disagreements. Role play games can also simulate uncomfortable and interesting scenarios (which is why they are so great) violience, simulated mental health issues, trauma, betrayal, xenophobia.

As well as our code of conduct for for players, we have guidance for Story tellers, which include safety cards and being aware of your surroundings.
