Festive Top Fives: Family Games
Looking for games to engage a younger audience this Christmas? Presenting our Top Five Family Games, all chosen to entertain a range of age groups and spark some multi-generational family fun!
Concept: Kids is our go-to choice when people ask for a game suitable for very young kids that's also fun for adults. This fully cooperative, animal-themed guessing game gets the kids giving clues by highlighting characteristics on the board while the adults try to guess which animal inspired them.
Snail Sprint is a new release from awesome publisher HABA about snail racing! Expect simple rules with a subtle twist here and there, fabulous components (the snails are magnetic and the outside of the tin the game comes in forms part of the race track) and lots of dice rolling!
Castle Panic is a great choice for a slightly older age group (6-8 years old is ideal) that has all the players working together to defend a castle in a forest clearing from a hoard of monsters coming out of the trees. Perfect for those who like a good battle but who can maybe get a bit carried away when the other players are the enemy…
MicroMacro: Crime City is an award-winning recent release that puts players to the test trying to solve a crime by piecing together clues from an endlessly fascinating city map. You'll need both good eyesight and keen detective skills for this one, but the rule are very simple. Ideal for ages 8 and up.
The Adventures of Robin Hood is another new one, this time an elaborate adventure game packed full of surprises. Players take on the roles of Robin Hood and his Merry Men and embark on a range of missions to help the poor and thwart the Sherriff of Nottingham's evil schemes. A hardback story book and a great big board full of secret advent calendar-style doors to open are just a couple of the delights in store in this box!
